LiveJournal Strikethrough 2007 - take action!

Today, LJ / SixApart decided to lose their minds. Based on simple posting / interest tags and the word of a hastily-erected right-wind fundie front group, a slew of Live Journals were deleted. There was little or no reason, and certainly no warning.

Ostensibly, the targeted groups and diaries were front groups for pedophelia- an absolutely horrendous, sickening, and perverse violation of children for the sake of sexual titillation. The execution was stunning; people with the words lolita, rape, yaoi, and even twincest were summarily chucked out the window.

Let me put this in perspective. That means that:

- Nabokov fan groups have been deleted. No more discussing “Lolita”.
- Rape survival communities…gone.
- Yaoi, which takes many forms…? Gone.
- You could be talking about grown-ups in a pic, mirroring each other, and use the tag “twincest” as a joke. Yeah, gone.

The group behind the whistleblowing is called “Warriors for Innocence”. These wonderful people are racists, homophobic, and Christian dominionists. Nice mix, right? Here is the blog of the woman running this seedy little two-person operation. I won’t be listing the WoI site, since it seems that it is full of trackbots (Adware scans of IE users are coming up with 150+ critical objects after just one visit). Google it and take your chances, if you’d like.

At any rate, this is an awful travesty of speech rights, at the very least, and a frightening example of vigilantism gone amok. Pedos should be tracked down like the rabid dogs they are, but leave that work to law enforcement, Amber Alert, and Perverted Justice- you know, people with training?

This Friday, there’s going to be an online LJ protest. Click here to read about it.

Go here to read more about this, as well as visit more links pertaining to these events.

Go here for support banners and relevent contact information for LJ and WoI.

And, just so you know…I’m a survivor of multiple instances of molestation myself, so I’m NOT condoning any pedo bullshit whatsoever.

ETA: The head of Six Apart just posted (4:10 AM) a news article titled, “Well, we really screwed this one up.” They’re trying to fix their screw-up. Good. Although, I gotta say, I think the damage is already done.

Just Not HOT ENOUGH! LOL!

I’m starting a new blog at justnothot.com. I’ve been reading a lot of reactions to hotenough.org, and they’re HILARIOUS! I really want to post people’s pics and thoughts on the site, and on any other site that rates people according to completely arbitrary guidelines.

I’ll be taking submissions in the next day or so.  Get ready! I think we’re going to have a blast!

My Associated Press interview re: hotenough.org

I was interviewed by Associated Press writer Daniela Flores for her article “Are You Hot Enough?”. It’s on NJ.com, and it may go national. I’ve now been told that the article was also mentioned on Tom Leykis’ talk show, and there’ll be more interviews.

Wow. Go figure.

Anywho, here’s the article, and here’s the original blog posting.

ETA: Yahoo News, too. Wow.

ETAA: Der Speigel. Welcome back from the flu, girlie.

The new blog is here. You can breathe now.

Here, at long last, is Luscious Life. No, not Luscious Life with Isis Kali…just Luscious Life.

I’ve dropped the name because:

  •  There is going to be another contributor to this blog.
  • I’m standing the hell by what I say, name and all. I don’t need no stinking stage name, lol.

Now that that’s out of the way, let’s move on to other things.

I’ve built the site using the very excellent Semiologic SEO-friendly template.  This is all the product of me learning CSS, XHTML, pHp (to an extent), Photoshop, SEO (search engine optimization), and gods-knows-what-else. This site is my baby, and I almost gave it up (that’ll be a posting for another day). Don’t give up!

You’re probably also thinking…what is it with all the ads and things? Well, don’t look now, but I’m also going to be adding a T-shirt shop, plus an Ebay and Amazon store. I am setting up several businesses that will end up garnering me an income, most of it passive.

I’m coming out of the pro blogger closet, dammit.

I want to be writing more. This site, unlike the other one, is updated three days a week. I’m writing a book, and there have been requests to write a book along the lines of what is on this site. That’s coming, too. But, I need time, and I’m not giving up my valuable time in trade for a buck. So, the Web is my livelihood, and I couldn’t be happier. But, that means that business and money will be going on here, too. I want to be stress-free enough to give you guys the best that I can, and that means setting up shop…sss.

I’ve dropped some of the older articles that weren’t really adding much to the site. The Inanna mythos will be up at the fiction blog, which is tentatively titled “Luscious Feast”.  The astrology and tarot stuff will be on tarotbytes.com.

Dealing with work and wealth, I’ve come to discover, have a LOT to do with personal development! It seems that I was hiding from honestly wanting prosperity, and thought that establishing that cash flow was dirty. Some people will think that earning from my writing here is skeezy. I hope that’s not the case, but they might. The cash, however, is never the issue. Paris Hilton would be a flaming hosebeast, rich or not.

So, you’ll be seeing articles here that reach out to entrepreneurs, investors, and wealth-builders who also want to make a difference in their world.  I hope to be a part of their lives, too! We can all learn from each other, and I think that you’ll be surprised at the things you learn about yourselves along the way.

Well, that’s that, folks. Till, well, tomorrow, I’m sure.
